The issue of quality
is central in teacher education and training
to ensure professionalism and effectiveness
in English language teaching and learning.
As such, this department is concerned with
the setting, maintaining and measuring of
standards in teacher education. It seeks to
measure and guarantee standards of programmes
and courses conducted by ELTC and to ensure
that these standards obtain recognition and
accreditation at the national, regional and
international level. It is also concerned
with planning and implementing monitoring
in collaboration with other agencies to ascertain
quality in schools as well as other institutions
of higher learning. This department is also
involved in designing tools for evaluation
of courses.
