department is responsible for designing and
developing programmes related to the teaching
of English to children in the primary school.
The department develops curricula for teaching
Literacy and English Language Teaching and
courses on primary ELT methodology. We also
conduct research into the teaching of Literacy
and English Language teaching in primary schools.
This research will inform and enhance the
practice of professionals involved in this
area. We would like to develop English language
literacy centres in collaboration with community-based
education centres.
